The presence of nine major factories, a railroad line and a canal system made Seneca Falls an attractive destination for immigrant workers at the end of the 19th century. By 1915, a quarter of Seneca Falls' population was foreign-born.
The local Italian community grew and prospered, which is seen in this collection of crowd-sourced photographs, used in a 1998 exhibit at Seneca Falls Historical Society, called Alla Salute: The Seneca Falls Italian American Community 1895-1998 .
