About

Salina Library is a public library in the hamlet of Mattydale, N.Y. The Salina Library Local History Collection arose from the local community’s need for a public place to collect history to share with each other, children, and future residents. The Local History Collection encompasses the library’s service area, which is the town of Salina and includes Mattydale, Lyncourt, Hinsdale, and Pitcher Hill. The collection consists of items from the early 20th century and includes photographs, correspondence of prominent local figures, postcards, and local school materials such as yearbooks and assembly programs. The collection continues to grow as community members become involved and active in the Mattydale Local History Interest group that meets monthly at the library.

Salina Free Library is a member of the Central New York Library Resources Council.
