About

The collections and archives at the Rochester Museum & Science Center (RMSC) consist of over 1.2 million objects reflecting the region's cultural and natural history. Public access to these collections through exhibitions, hands-on research, and online platforms furthers the mission of the RMSC to stimulate broad community interest and understanding of science and technology, and their impact – past, present, and future – on our lives. The Schuyler C. Townson Library and Strasenburgh Planetarium Library hold books and serials that cover a range of topics with specialization in fields mirroring the museum’s collections. The archives include video, audio, manuscript, ephemera, document, print, map, and photography collections. Collections of note include the Freeman C. Johnson Archives, the Howard Coles Collection, the Susan B. Anthony Collection, the Bausch Family Papers, the Danforth-Huntington Collection, the Martha Matilda Harper Collection, the Stromberg-Carlson Telephone Manufacturing Company, and the Albert R. Stone Negative Collection.

Rochester Museum & Science Center is a member of the Rochester Regional Library Council.
